At Tech Kahunas we look at your vulnerabilities. You know, the ones you didn’t know about–or didn’t care enough about. What are the threats to them? What would happen if a threat took advantage of your vulnerabilities? What would happen to your business and the trust of your customers?
Our analysts know what faces your organization. We choose the firewalls, antivirus, computer settings, even the cyber awareness training your employees need, to help mitigate or eliminate your risk.
Your data is invaluable. Whether you are using it right now, sending it between employees, or have it saved somewhere, we protect your data. We use data encryption and other protections you need.
If your company uses credit cards, sensitive personal data, or you have other compliance requirements, you don't want to be taken by surprise during an audit (or with an unexpected one!). We get you ready for all of that.
Ransomware is malicious software that can lock your computers and data and then demand payment to unlock them. This typically happens through users clicking on “phishing” email links or opening email attachments. Ransomware has taken down big and small name alike. In the last two years Colonial Pipeline, the cities of Atlanta and Johannesburg, the state of Virginia, even cyberinsurance company AXA all fell victim. Those are the big names, but the big names should have been ready. Over 1200 ransomware breaches occur a month. Are you ready?
The stats
In 2021, ransomware payments stood at an average of $102.3 million a month—an increase of 518% from 2020. Typically, a single victim (usually a business) was hit for $50 million, up from $30 million in 2020. Ransomware exploits have risen 97.25% since 2016. Only 8% of victims get all their data back after an attack. Victims who pay get about 65% of their data, while 29% get back less than 50%.
Sixty-eight different ransomware variants are known at present, the most notable being Ryuk, REvil (Sodinokibi), Darkside, Avaddon and Phobos. These are just the big ones. Be ready.
